Materials have been chosen to express the function within the building.
Local handmade bricks (from Swanage) are proposed. To add interest to the brickwork, whilst emphasising horizontality, the bonding is to be of ‘English Garden wall’ type, with snapped headers every 4th course and raked horizontal pointing. Tiles to the roof of the Hall are of an interlocking type which look similar to handmade Staffordshire tiles and perform at the low pitch required by the Planners. A slate roof differentiates the Chancel.
