New Church Hall Radipole
A new Church Hall is planned for St Aldhelm’s Church, Radipole.
The existing hall is dilapidated and no longer adequate for the needs of the Church and the vibrant community which use the building.
A link from the new Hall to the Church will form a courtyard at the entrance to the Hall, centred on the Existing Stained Glass window. This enhances the ‘witness’ of the existing Church building, as everyone is presented with view of Christ as they leave the Hall. Making use of the fall of the site, the new Hall has a split-level arrangement and a lift and stairs will make the building fully accessible. The building is being designed to minimise the amount of energy required for light, heating and cooling. IES computational modelling is being used to assess the energy performance and inform the design.
